President Droupadi Murmu Celebrates Her 66th Birthday Today, Dignitaries Extend Greetings

New Delhi: President of India Droupadi Murmu celebrated her 66th birthday on Thursday.

Several political leaders and dignitaries of the country including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Vice President of India Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Union Minister Nitin Gadkari extended their heartfelt birthday wishes to the President of India.

She was born on June 20, 1958, in Uparbeda village in Mayurbhanj district. She became the 15th President of India on July 25, 2022.

To observe her birthday, President Murmu visited the Jagannath temple in Delhi and prayed for India’s progress. In a post on X, she said, “Jai Jagannath! Today I visited the Jagannath temple in Delhi and prayed for the welfare of all countrymen and that our country continues to set new standards of progress.” The president’s office also posted pictures of her temple visit.

PM Modi in a message on X wrote, “Warm birthday wishes to Rashtrapati Ji. Her exemplary service and dedication to our nation inspire us all. Her wisdom and emphasis on serving the poor and marginalised are a strong guiding force. Her life journey gives hope to crores of people. India will always be grateful to her for her tireless efforts and visionary leadership. May she be blessed with a long and healthy life.”

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge in his birthday wish on X wrote, “On behalf of the Congress party, we extend our warm birthday greetings to the President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu ji. We wish you a long and healthy life. May your innate wisdom and steadfast commitment to India’s progress, welfare and justice, continue to guide all Indians.”

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, and Tamil Nadu MLA Vanathi Srinivasan also took to their X handle to send birthday wishes to President Murmu.
