Married Man Arrested For Raping Nurse of Private Hospital In Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: A married man named Jitu Ranjan Das (35) was arrested by the personnel of Pahala police station in Bhubaneswar for allegedly raping a female nurse employed in a private hospital here.

According to police sources, the accused serves as a fireman in Fire Services department in Angul. About four months back he developed friendship with the nurse working in a private hospital in Bhubaneswar through social media.

Although married, Jitu lied that he was unmarried. On June 15 late evening on June 15, while the complainant was on duty, Das visited her and took her mobile phone away. On the same day at around 10 pm, the accused visited her and asked her to accompany with him to get her mobile phone. The accused allegedly took the complainant to his rented house at Pahala where he raped her.

Acting on the complaint filed by the victim, police investigated the matter and arrested Das. During the investigation, it was revealed that the accused has two rape cases pending against him in two police stations in Cuttack.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
