Deteriorating Air Quality Trigger Ban On Construction & Demolition Activities in NCR

New Delhi: The National Capital Region (NCR) has been placed under a construction and demolition embargo by the government due to recent deterioration in air quality.

The city’s average air quality index for yesterday, December 30, was 399, which is just two tiers over the severe category.

The third stage of the Graded Response Action Plan has been activated in the Region by the subcommittee of the Commission for Air Quality Management.

Healthcare facilities, metro projects, airport projects, projects pertaining to national security or defence, projects of national importance, and projects involving rail services and operations are exempt.
