Skin Cancer of US President Joe Biden Treated Successfully

US President Joe Biden recently suffered from skin cancer, which was treated successfully. He had developed a skin lesion on his chest in February, which was identified to be a basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer.

In a letter on Friday, the White House physician Kevin O’Connor said, all cancerous tissue was successfully removed. Biden will continue dermatologic surveillance as part of his ongoing healthcare but the site had healed, he added. O’Connor said basal cell carcinoma lesions do not tend to spread or metastasize.

Last month, during the medical examination, doctors declared Biden (80) healthy and “fit for duty”. At the time a small lesion was removed from his chest, which was sent for a biopsy.

Biden’s health is under close scrutiny as he intends to run for a second presidential term in 2024. A formal declaration of the president’s intentions has yet to be made. Biden is already the oldest American president ever.
