5 Maoists Killed in Encounter in Jharkhand’s Chatra

Ranchi: Five hardcore armed Maoists were killed in an encounter in Jharkhand’s Chatra. The slain naxals included Gautam Paswan and Charlie, who carried a reward of Rs 25 lakh each. The other three naxalites killed in the encounter were Nandu, Amar Ganjhu, and Sanjeev Bhuiyan. Each of them had a reward of Rs 5 lakh on their head.

AK 47 and Insas rifles were recovered from the slain Maoists.

The operation is still underway. Further details into the matter are awaited.

Earlier on Sunday, a joint team of police and DRG arrested three naxals in insurgency-hit Kanker district of Chhattisgarh.

According to police, the arrested naxals were identified as Samund alias Suman Singh Anchala (42), Sanjay Kumar Usendi (27) and Parasram Dhangul (55).
