Manipur Violence: HM Amit Shah Keeps Close Tab; Holds Video-Conference Meetings With Top Centre-State Functionaries

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah is closely the monitoring situation in Manipur and is in constant touch with top functionaries of the State and Centre. Sources said the Home Minister held two video-conference meetings with Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh, State Chief Secretary, DGP, Union Home Secretary and other top officials.

Shah also had conversations with the Chief Ministers of neighbouring states.

The Manipur government has appointed retired IPS officer and former CRPF Chief Kuldeep Singh as a security advisor. Paramilitary soldiers have been dispatched to the State, and more will be sent today if necessary.
