Young Lady Doctor Stabbed to Death in Police Presence in Kerala Hospital

Thiruvananthapuram: A 22-year-old lady doctor was stabbed to death in police presence on Wednesday at a taluk hospital in Kottarakkara of Kerala. The injured accused was brought to the hospital by police after being nabbed in relation to a fight with his family members.

According to police sources, while his wound was being dressed, the accused suddenly got provoked and attacked everyone at the place with a scissor and a scalpel.

The young lady doctor was seriously injured while the police personnel who accompanied the man also suffered injuries. The doctor was rushed to a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram but could not be saved.

Interestingly, the accused called the emergency number to save him from his family members following a fight with them. Police recovered him in an inebriated but injured state. He was taken to the taluk hospital for treatment.

Besides the doctor, four others were injured by the man who also vandalised some areas of the hospital.

The deceased doctor was a house surgeon at Azeezia Medical College Hospital and was at the taluk hospital as part of her training.

Medical professionals came out on the streets in Kottarakkara in protest against the incident.
