Rain Brings Respite In Odisha’s Bhubaneswar After Severe Heat Wave

Bhubaneswar: The residents of Bhubaneswar heaved a sigh of relief late last night on Sunday after the city witnessed lightning, thunderstorm and wind flow in some places.

After a long spell of heatwave conditions and day temperatures soaring above 40°C, even 45°C in some places in western Odisha, life was becoming unbearable daily. On the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, people heaved a sigh of relief.

On Sunday, the Twin Cities of Odisha and Bhubaneswar and Cuttack residents experienced extreme day temperatures of 41.6°C and 40.2°C respectively.
