Chandrayaan-3 Cheaper than Bollywood & Hollywood Movies

India’s Chandrayaan-3 is surely a path-breaking real-life blockbuster for the world. It managed to set foot on never never-ever ventured South Pole of the moon with a budget of Rs 615 crore, which is cheaper than the flop movie, ‘Adipurush’ made at a cost of Rs 700 crore.

In US dollars, USD 75 million spent on Chandrayaan-3 is cheaper than Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie’ worth USD 145 million and Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ (USD 100 million).

Nolan’s 2013 space fiction movie, ‘Interstellar’ cost USD 165 million to produce. Note that the budget is not inflation-adjusted.

‘The Martian’ (2015) was produced for USD 106 million.

Chandrayaan-3 is also cheaper than the average listed price of any of the Boeing aircraft, which Air India is all set to buy that cost USD 128.25 million to USD 442.20 million for each.

Russia’s failed Luna 25 is estimated to have cost  USD 200 million.
