Teacher Dead, Over 20 Students Injured in School Bus Accident in Nabarangpur Dist

Nabarangpur: A teacher died and over 20 students were injured when a school bus met with an accident at Chandahandi ghat in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district on Wednesday.

The ill-fated deceased was identified as Prabhas Jena, a Physical Education Teacher (PET) at Umerkote’s Swami Vivekanand Vidya Mandir School.

This bus was transporting students of Umerkote Adarsh Vidyalaya to Chandahandi for a district-level sports tournament. At a curve of the ghat road, the driver lost control and the bus fell to a 30-foot-deep gorge.

While the teacher died on the spot and over 20 students were injured. Locals rescued the injured students and admitted them to Jharigaon Community Health Centre for treatment.
