Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik Expands ‘Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha’ Scheme to 3 More Districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s ambitious “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha” scheme has extended its reach to three more districts, Kandhamal, Angul, and Gajapati, with a total allocation of Rs 272.50 crore. The initiative aims to empower panchayats with financial resources to undertake various developmental projects.

Under the scheme, each panchayat will receive Rs 50 lakh to invest in projects that align with the scheme’s objectives. In Kandhamal, three Assembly constituencies, Baliguda, G Udayagiri, and Phulbani, will benefit from Rs 85.50 crore, enabling the implementation of 2,099 projects across 171 panchayats.

Angul will receive Rs 112.50 crore for five constituencies, Talcher, Pallahara, Chendipada, Athmallik, and Angul. This funding will support 2,796 projects in 225 panchayats under eight blocks.

Gajapati will receive Rs 74.50 crore for the Mohana and Paralakhemundi Assembly constituencies, enabling the execution of 1,662 projects in 149 panchayats under seven blocks.

The scheme extends beyond infrastructure development to encompass the preservation and promotion of Odisha’s vibrant Jagannath culture and traditions. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik emphasized Odisha’s rich cultural heritage, highlighting the Jagannath culture’s message of universal love, service, and equality.

“Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha” also prioritizes digital infrastructure development, providing internet connectivity, skill development centers, work hubs, and banking facilities in rural areas. This initiative aims to empower rural youth, women, and farmers by creating new opportunities and enhancing their livelihoods.

The scheme, initially launched with a budget of Rs 3,397 crore, has a broader goal of implementing 90,723 projects across 6,794 panchayats in the state. With an allocation of Rs 10 lakh for each village, “Ama Odisha Nabin Odisha” is poised to bring about significant transformation in rural Odisha.
