Odisha Man Hacks 2 to Death After Argument Over Chicken; Surrenders

Sundargarh: Tragedy struck Sundargarh district in Odisha on December 16th when a seemingly trivial dispute took a horrific turn. Jura Munda, a 35-year-old man from Amarudi village, allegedly hacked two fellow villagers to death with an axe, leaving the community reeling in shock.

According to reports, the altercation stemmed from Munda’s consumption of a dead chicken, sparking an argument with Charan Burwelli (24) and Janka Sundhi (45). Fuelled by the dispute, Munda launched a brutal attack, wielding an axe against the unsuspecting villagers. Both Burwelli and Sundhi succumbed to their injuries, their bodies tragically discarded in a nearby nullah by the distraught attacker.

Desperate families initiated a search on the same day, yet the missing villagers remained elusive. The turning point arrived today when Munda, seemingly consumed by guilt, surrendered to the police, confessing to the crime. His admission led police to the bodies, which were recovered from the nullah for further investigation.

Currently, Munda remains in police custody, undergoing interrogation to unravel the full extent of the incident. While the motive behind the fatal attack remains unclear, the incident has sent shockwaves through Sundargarh, igniting concerns about escalating violence and simmering tensions within the community.
