Gen Musharraf’s Death Sentence Upheld by Pak Supreme Court A Year After His Death

Pakistan’s Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the death sentence awarded to the late General Pervez Musharraf. In 2019 a special court had punished the former military ruler of Pakistan with the death penalty in a high treason case.

Musharraf, the former military dictator of Pakistan died on February 5, 2023, in Dubai at the age of 79. He was living in the UAE since 2016 in self-exile.

He got a death sentence in a case of high treason filed against him during the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) party’s rule for his “unconstitutional” imposition of an emergency in November 2007.
