IED Attack Foiled in Manipur, Army Personnel Defuse 3 Explosive Devices

Imphal: Explosions by Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) were averted by the Indian Army Imphal East district. According to an official statement on Sunday, three IEDs planted on a road in the Imphal East district were diffused late Saturday evening.

The statement issued by PRO Defence of Manipur, Nagaland and South Arunachal said that the IEDs were discovered on the road connecting Nongdam Tangkhul and Etham Tangkhul villages, near Maphou Dam.

During a routine area domination and surveillance operation, Army personnel discovered the three IEDs. The area was cordoned off and the Bomb Disposal Squad reached the location and diffused the IEDs safely. It prevented loss of life and injury to locals.
