Medical Expenses of Injured in Fireworks Explosion During Chandan Yatra to be Borne from CMRF, Declares Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik announced that all expenses of the treatment of the people injured in the firecracker explosion during Chandan Yatra at Nerandra Pushkarani in Puri will be borne from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.

Taking to the X, he expressed his concern over the sad incident on Wednesday and wrote, “I am sorry to hear about the accident at Narendra Puskarini in Puri. The Chief Secretary and the District administration have been instructed to ensure proper treatment of the injured and to monitor smooth operation. All the medical expenses of the injured will be borne from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. My sincere prayers to Mahaprabhu for the speedy recovery of all.”

In this accident, three persons including a child died and more than 30 devotees suffered severe burn injuries. The accident occurred when a pile of fireworks exploded at Devi Ghat of Narendra Pushkarani during the Chapa Khela ritual of Lord Jagannath.
