NDA Leaders Unanimously Choose PM Modi As Alliance Leader, Oath On Saturday

New Delhi: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) parties are set to meet President Droupadi Murmu on June 7 to stake their claim in forming a new government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sources reveal that Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Telugu Desam Party chief Chandrababu Naidu are urging the BJP to ‘act fast’ in the government formation process.

During the NDA meeting, Nitish Kumar stressed the need for prompt action, stating, “Jaldi kijiye (act fast).” He highlighted the importance of avoiding delays in forming the government, urging a swift resolution.

The NDA partners have unanimously chosen Narendra Modi as their leader for the forthcoming government, as confirmed by a proposal signed by 21 NDA members.

Key figures including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, and JDU leaders Lallan Singh and Sanjay Jha were present at the meeting. Prime Minister Modi has resigned from his post, with his third consecutive oath-taking ceremony expected on June 8.

The focus is on Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu, who could play pivotal roles in the government formation process. Chandrababu Naidu, ahead of attending the NDA meeting, affirmed, “We are in NDA. I am going for an NDA meeting. In the course of time, if there is anything we will report to you.”

The TDP secured 16 out of 25 Lok Sabha seats in Andhra Pradesh, while the JDU won 12 out of 40 seats in Bihar. Although the BJP fell short of a majority with victory on 240 Lok Sabha seats, the NDA, with the assistance of allies, clinched 292 seats.
