BJP’s Khurda MLA Prashant Jagdev Granted 3-Day Interim Bail

Bhubaneswar: BJP’s Khurda MLA Prashant Jagdev was granted interim bail from June 9 to June 12 by the Additional District Judge-I on Friday.

He was arrested on May 26 for allegedly toppling an EVM and manhandling two polling personnel at booth no 114 of Kaunripatana under Bolagarh block under Begunia Assembly constituency while the voting process was continuing on May 25. According to his legal counsel, the newly elected MLA was granted bail to enable him to attend the oath-taking ceremony of the Odisha Chief Minister and be a part of the tenth-day death ceremony rituals of a relative.

Later, Jagdev was transferred from the Khurda jail to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in the wee hours of May 22. He is admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Medicine ward of the hospital.
