‘Mahavijay’ for NDA: Odisha Set to Drive India’s Growth, Says PM Modi

New Delhi: In a historic feat, Narendra Modi was re-elected as the leader of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), paving the way for his unprecedented third consecutive term as India’s Prime Minister.

Addressing MPs from the Central Hall of Parliament, Modi congratulated the NDA’s leaders and workers for their hard work in securing a resounding mandate in the 2024 general elections.

Notably, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) achieved remarkable success in Odisha, winning 20 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats and 78 of the 147 assembly seats in the state. Modi praised this stellar performance, attributing it to the tireless efforts of party workers and vowing to make Odisha “one of the growth engines” for India’s development over the next 25 years, with the blessings of Lord Jagannath.

Terming the NDA’s victory a “Mahavijay” (grand victory), Modi lauded the alliance’s true representation of India’s diversity, serving people across 22 states, including those with significant tribal populations. He highlighted the NDA’s organic nature, tracing its roots to stalwart leaders like Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Parkash Singh Badal and Balasaheb Thackeray.

Modi stressed the need for both a majority government and consensus to drive the nation’s progress. He assured the public that the NDA would work unitedly towards development, bridging regional and national aspirations – a formula he credited for the alliance’s success in southern states like Karnataka and Telangana.

With the NDA now entering its fourth term, Modi hailed it as India’s most successful pre-poll alliance, committing to serving all sections of society, including minorities like Christians in Goa and the northeast.
