Former Haryana CM Banshi Lal’s Daughter Joins BJP After Quitting Congress

New Delhi: Former Haryana Chief Minister Banshi Lal’s daughter Kiran Choudhry joined the BJP in New Delhi on Wednesday. He had resigned from the Congress a day back.

She joined the saffron party in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Union Minister Manohar Lal (Khattar), and National General Secretary Tarun Chugh.

Kiran’s daughter Shruti Choudhry, a former MP from Haryana, also joined the BJP.

Welcoming the mother-daughter duo into the saffron party, Manohar Lal said that it was a historic day as two prominent personalities joined the BJP.

On Tuesday, Kiran Choudhry announced her decision to quit the Congress due to differences with the state leadership.

In her resignation letter, Choudhary alleged that the Congress party in Haryana was being run as a “personal fiefdom”.

According to reports, Choudhry was reportedly upset after her daughter was denied a ticket from Bhiwani-Mahendragarh in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.
