Odisha CM Mohan Majhi Seeks Public Suggestions for Annual Budget 2024-25

Bhubaneswar: In a move towards a more inclusive budgetary process, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Wednesday that the Odisha government is inviting suggestions from the public for the 2024-25 budget.

This initiative aims to make the budget preparation more participatory, allowing input from common citizens, civil society organizations, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.

Highlighting the importance of public involvement, the Chief Minister emphasized, “Our government is a people’s government. It is essential to incorporate the proposals and opinions of the common people into the budget-making process.”

To facilitate this, the Finance Department has launched several digital platforms for collecting suggestions, including a dedicated web portal, email, WhatsApp, and SMS. Citizens can submit their input via the budget web portal at (https://budget.odisha.gov.in/), email their suggestions to [email protected], or send messages through WhatsApp at (+91)9438161111. Additionally, suggestions can be shared on social media platforms such as X (formerly Twitter) @FdOdisha, Facebook @FinanceOdisha, and Instagram @fdodisha.

The window for submitting suggestions is open from June 20 to July 5. The Finance Department is also conducting pre-budget consultations with various segments of society to ensure a comprehensive approach to the budget planning.
