NEET-UG Paper Leak: 5 More Arrested from Jharkhand

Patna: Five more persons were arrested from Jharkhand in connection with the alleged leak of the NEET-UG question paper on Friday by the Economic Offences Unit (EOU) of the Bihar Police.

The total number of persons arrested in connection with the alleged leak of the NEET-UG question paper has now reached 18.

Recent arrests were made in Jharkhand’s Deoghar and Ranchi, reported India Today. The arrested persons were taken to Patna for interrogation.

Among those arrested are Awadesh Kumar and his son Abhishek, a NEET aspirant from Ranchi. Awadesh confessed that he paid Rs 40 lakh for the question paper.

Bihar police had earlier arrested 13 individuals including four NEET-UG candidates and their family members, in connection with the question paper leak case.

The arrested individuals included aspirant Anurag Yadav, alleged mastermind Sikandar Yadavendu and two others, Nitish Kumar and Amit Anand. They have confessed to receiving the question paper a day prior to the exam and memorising the answers, police sources said.
