Inebriated Man Kills Elderly Parents Over Land Dispute in Balasore Dist

Balasore: In an inebriated state, a man murdered his parents over a land dispute at Garasanga village under Simulia police station limits in Balasore district.

The deceased were identified as Bulei Behera (90) and his wife Champa Behera (75). Both were missing since last four days. Their daughter Mamata Mallick had registered a missing complaint with Simulia police regarding it.

In her complaint, Mamata had alleged that her brother Ramesh Behera may have killed their parents.

After investigation, police have recovered the body of Bulei, which was buried near his house. Champa’s body is yet to be recovered.

Ramesh allegedly buried the bodies of his parents to destroy the murder evidence and absconded to escape arrest.

It is suspected that Ramesh may have dumped his mother’s body somewhere nearby.

According to sources, Ramesh was involved in the smuggling of narcotics and liquor. He was not on good terms with his parents and sister over land disputes. He used to beat his parents in inebriated conditions. His wife and child had left him 17 years back.
