Cousins End Life in UP As Families Oppose Their Affair

Lucknow: An 18-year-old girl and her 20-year-old cousin committed suicide in the Astoli village of Sahajahanpur district in Uttar Pradesh as their families opposed their ‘relationship’.

Kuldeep (20) was allegedly having an affair with his 18-year-old cousin. When their families came to know about it, they opposed their relationship.

Kuldeep was married off a few months ago and the girl was to get married on July 9, police sources said.

Bodies of the duo were found hanging when the girl’s family members went to collect hay for their cattle in a hut built near their house.

The bodies were sent for post-mortem and further investigation is underway.
