Odisha Govt Announces Block-Level Training to Boost Math Skills in Students

Bhubaneswar: In a move to enhance students’ mathematics skills, the Odisha government will launch a special training program at the block level, announced School and Mass Education Minister Nityananda Gond on Sunday, stressing the need for educational reforms.

Minister Gond said that mathematics is a crucial component of the school curriculum and that the proposed training will significantly boost students’ learning and proficiency in the subject. “This initiative aims to elevate the overall educational standards,” he remarked.

Regarding the reopening of schools, the minister stated that with the onset of monsoon and favourable weather conditions as forecast by the IMD, schools can now operate on regular timings. The School and Mass Education Department had earlier notified that schools would function from 6:30 am to 10:30 am on June 21, returning to normal hours from June 22.

Previously, the government had authorized district administrations to decide on school reopening or schedule changes based on local weather conditions.
