Tiger That Killed Cattle After Straying Into Wayanad Trapped and Caged

Thiruvananthapuram: The tiger that strayed into Kenichira village in Poothadi Panchayat, Wayanad in Kerala was trapped and put in a cage by the forest department late on Sunday.

The tiger entered the cage at around 11.05 pm. It was trapped while it returned to the cowshed where it had killed cows on Saturday night.

Following reports of tiger attacks and the presence of a stray tiger in Manthadam, Kenichira in Wayanad, the Chief Wildlife Warden of Kerala issued the order to tranquilise and capture the problematic tiger on Sunday. The forest department officials managed to catch the tiger without having to tranquilise it.

The 10-year-old tiger was identified as Tholpetty 7. It had killed four cows in three days.
