‘Emergency’ Directed by Kangana Ranaut to Release on Sept 6

Mumbai: Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film ‘Emergency’ will release in theatres on September 6.

The actor-turned-MP announced the release date of his directorial venture with a new poster. In May, she had announced the delay in release of the film due to her Lok Sabha election campaign.

Announcing the release date, Ranauat wrote on social media, “The Beginning of the 50th Year of Independent India’s Darkest Chapter, Announcing #KanganaRanaut’s #Emergency In Cinemas on 6th September 2024. The Explosive Saga of The Most Controversial Episode of The History of Indian Democracy (sic).”

Backed by Zee Studios and Manikarnika Films, ‘Emergency’ is set to showcase most controversial episodes in the history of Indian democracy involving India’s first woman Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi.

Talking about the film in a press release, Kangana said, “I am deeply inspired by William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, the essence of Emergency is the destruction wrought when ambition goes unchecked by moral constraints, it is undoubtedly the most sensational chapter of Indian democracy and I am eagerly awaiting its worldwide release on 6th September 2024.”

‘Emergency’ also features Anupam Kher, Mahima Chaudhary, Milind Soman, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, and the late Satish Kaushik in pivotal roles.
