Lucknow: In a rare surgery, a live leech was removed from the nose of a man in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.

According to the treating doctors, one of the nostrils of the patient named Cecil Andrew was bleeding for several days, and he was feeling strange movements inside his nose.

Medical examinations revealed that a live leech was hiding deep inside his left nostril.

This operation was carried out in the ENT Department of the hospital, using the telescope method to take out the live leech without damaging the surrounding tissues.

It is suspected that the leech entered the nostril of the man while he bathed in the stagnant water of a waterfall in Uttarakhand two weeks back. Fortunately, the zoic did not travel to the brain or eye of the patient.
