Vigilance Nabs Revenue Inspector Red-Handed While Accepting ₹7,000 Bribe Odisha’s Ganjam

Ganjam: Vigilance authorities on Tuesday nabbed a revenue inspector for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 7,000 in Odisha’s Ganjam district. The inspector, identified as Pradeep Kumar Gouda from Gangapur under Belaguntha tehsil, was caught red-handed following a complaint. The bribe was reportedly demanded to expedite an enquiry report related to property valuation.

Acting on the complaint, Vigilance officials orchestrated a trap where the complainant delivered the bribe to Gouda, resulting in his immediate arrest. The authorities seized the entire amount of gratification during the operation. Concurrently, Vigilance conducted searches at two premises linked to Gouda from a corruption angle.

Berhampur Vigilance has initiated legal proceedings under Section 7 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act, 2018. Further investigation into the matter is underway to uncover additional details.
