Woman Killed, 7 Injured As Autorickshaw Hits Parked Tractor in Sambalpur

Sambalpur: A woman lost her life and seven others were critically injured when the autorickshaw on which they were travelling hit a parked tractor from behind at Bagdera village under Sadar police station of Sambalpur on Tuesday evening.

The deceased was Sourendri Bagh (53) of Ghenupalli Dumalpada village of Sambalpur.

As per reports, Sourendri and other men from her village were returning home from Sadar police station when due to poor visibility the driver of the autorickshaw crashed the vehicle to the parked tractor.

Locals rescued the injured including the driver and informed the local police. All the injured were rushed to the Sadar Hospital, where Sourendri was declared dead. Later, the even seriously injured persons were shifted to the Burla Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The police have seized both vehicles and initiated an investigation into the matter.
