Decision on Opening of Ratna Bhandar at Next Meeting on July 9: Justice Biswanath Rath

Bhubaneswar: The decision on the opening of Ratna Bhandar of Puri Jagannath Temple will be taken in the next meeting of the committee on July 9, said Justice Biswanath Rath, the head of the new high-level committee formed to supervise the reopening of the treasure trove.

Odisha government recently formed this high-level committee to supervise the reopening of Ratna Bhandar for repair and document the valuables.

Rath said that the duplicate keys of the Ratna Bhandar are in the in the treasury and the Chief Administrator of Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) will present the keys to the high-level committee at the July 9 meeting.

Justice Rath added that the locks of the Ratna Bhandar will be broken if keys fail to open the locks. The committee will prepare a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for the opening of the Ratna Bhandar and will submit it to the government.
