Woman Killed As BMW With Shinde Sena Leader’s Son Inside Rams Bike in Mumbai

Mumbai: A woman was killed and her husband sustained injuries following a hit-and-run accident in Mumbai’s Worli area early on Sunday morning.

The car was reportedly driven by Mihir Shah, 24, son of Shiv Sena leader Rajesh Shah affiliated with Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. It is widely speculated in the media that Mihir was drunk at the time of the accident.

The victims, residents of Koliwada in Worli, were returning from Sassoon Dock after buying fish when a BMW hit them from behind near Atria Mall at around 5:30 am, according to police. The collision resulted in severe injuries to the fisherman and his wife, Kaveri Nakawa, who later succumbed to her injuries during treatment.

Worli Police have detained Rajesh and his son Mihir. Cops are reviewing CCTV footage to determine who was driving at the time of the incident.

Chief Minister Shinde described the incident as “very unfortunate” and assured that the investigation would be impartial. “Strict action will be taken as per the law. Everyone will be treated equally,” he stated.

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackrey visited the Worli police station and met the victim’s husband. He stressed the need to rise above politics to ensure strict action in such cases. “We must go beyond politics to prevent such incidents. Driving violations are increasing in Mumbai, and we need to address this urgently,” he wrote on X.
