Minor Playing with Loaded Gun Shoots Himself in Lucknow

Lucknow: A 12-year-old boy died when he shot himself while playing with a loaded gun in the Krishna Nagar area of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh on Sunday night.

According to police sources, the victim, Shiva Singh, was playing with the rifle belonging to his maternal uncle, Sanjay Singh, at his rented house when it fired.

According to the preliminary probe based on statements from family members, Sanjay had left the loaded rifle in the room and gone to the market to purchase vegetables. Shiva while playing with it, pulled the trigger and a bullet hit his stomach.

The injured child was rushed to a hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

The rifle has been seized and sent to the forensic laboratory for analysis.
