Bengaluru PG Owner Shares Woman Tenant’s Phone Number On Web as ‘Call Girl’; Arrested

Bengaluru: The owner of a Paying Guest accommodation was arrested by the Bengaluru police on Sunday on charges of posting the phone number of a woman online, claiming that she is a ‘call girl.’

After receiving several lewd calls, the woman registered a police complaint against the accused.

According to a report in The Times of India, the accused identified as Anand Sharma (30) runs a PG called V—Stayz PG in Shivanand circle. Some days back, the woman approached him for accommodation.

He collected the advance from the woman and asked her to visit the property. The woman did not like the accommodation and asked him for a refund. The accused did not repay the advance money. The woman posted a bad review for his PG stay and asked others to be careful.

To take revenge on the woman, the owner of the PG accommodation allegedly shared her phone number as an on-line sex worker on the internet.

After receiving continuous calls, the woman filed a complaint at the east CEN police station. The police tracked the IP address and identified Sharma as the one who posted the classified ad in the name of the woman on the web. He was arrested and mobile has been seized.
