Odisha: Woman Kills 14-Yr-Old Son In Alleged Attempt To Hide Extramarital Affair

Deogarh: A shocking case of filicide has come to light in Odisha’s Deogarh district, as police arrested a woman for allegedly killing her 14-year-old son on July 1.

The victim, identified as Niku Sunain from Rajamunda Chhak sahi, was reportedly strangled to death by his mother, Mili Sunain.

The investigation began following a complaint filed by the deceased’s father, who accused his wife of murder. Police probe revealed that Mili Sunain was involved in an extramarital affair with a man named Ranjan Nayak. The motive for the crime is suspected to be the victim’s disapproval of his mother’s relationship.

According to a police officer, “The mother and son reportedly had a heated argument on the morning of July 1 after Mili returned home from dropping her daughter at school. In a fit of rage, she allegedly strangulated Niku to death using a saree.”
