Ashwini Vaishnaw Flags Off Bharat Gaurav Train for India-Nepal Cultural Yatra

New Delhi: Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday flagged off the Bharat Gaurav Train for the Bharat-Nepal Yatra from Delhi’s Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station.

These special trains, introduced to promote Indian culture, will take passengers to key destinations in both India and Nepal, including Ayodhya, Sitamarhi, Janakpur, Kashi Vishwanath and Pashupatinath. The Indian Railways will handle all travel and accommodation arrangements for the journey.

Speaking at the inauguration, Vaishnaw said, “The Bharat Gaurav Yatra trains are part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision to showcase India’s rich cultural heritage through rail journeys. This train will allow tourists to explore the shared heritage of India and Nepal, visiting important cultural and spiritual sites.” He also highlighted other popular Bharat Gaurav Yatras like the Sri Ramayan Yatra, Buddha Yatra, Guru Kirpa Yatra and Northeast Discovery Yatra.

Bharat Gaurav Trains, launched under the “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative in November 2021, Bharat Gaurav Trains aim to boost domestic tourism by offering theme-based journeys focused on India’s cultural and historical landmarks. The first Bharat Gaurav Train departed in January 2022 from Coimbatore to Sainagar Shirdi.

These trains operate on circuits designed to cover various tourist destinations, with services such as off-board travel, hotel stays, guided tours and meals provided. Onboard, passengers enjoy amenities including infotainment systems, medical assistance and freshly prepared meals.

The Bharat Gaurav Trains feature a mix of Sleeper, AC II, and AC III-tier coaches, while the Deluxe AC version offers additional luxury services, including shower cubicles, electronic safes and foot massagers.
