9 Migrant Workers Being Trafficked to Hyderabad Rescued from Turekela Station; Middleman Nabbed

Balangir: Nine migrant workers were rescued from the Turekela railway station by the local police while they were being trafficked to Hyderabad. Police have also detained a middleman involved in this labour trafficking.

The rescued migrant workers were from villages under Turakela block. The middleman had lured them through promises of employment at higher wage.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted a Bolero at Turekela railway station and rescued the victims. During the investigation it was revealed that the workers were being taken illegally to Hyderabad. Police are interrogating the nabbed middleman to unravel more about this labour trafficking racket.
