Constable Harasses Nurse in Jajpur Dist; Detained by Police

Jajpur: A police constable was detained by the personnel of the Mangalpur police station in Jajpur district for allegedly harassing and assaulting a nurse on Sunday night.

The accused constable identified as Jitendra Biswal is posted at the Rambag outpost. He hails from the Garadhia village under Sasua panchayat.

According to reports, it is alleged that Biswal was making unwanted advances towards the nurse for over a year despite rejection and protest by her.

On Sunday night, Biswal barged into Nayak’s home and proposed to her again. When she declined his advances, he allegedly assaulted and molested her.

Later the nurse registered a complaint against the constable and he was taken into custody by the police.
