Sahil Parakh Slams Century as India U19 Beat Australia by 9 Wickets; Seal ODI Series

Puducherry: Sahil Parakh’s explosive unbeaten century propelled India Under-19 to a commanding nine-wicket victory against Australia on Monday, securing a 2-0 lead in the three-match ODI series. Parakh scored 109 runs off just 75 balls, hitting 14 fours and 5 sixes, as India chased down a target of 177 in just 22 overs.

After the early dismissal of Rudra Patel (10), Parakh formed a crucial 153-run partnership with Abhigyan Kundu, who contributed 53 not out from 50 balls. India had previously triumphed over Australia by seven wickets in the first match on Saturday.

On the bowling front, Karnataka’s Samarth Nagaraj (2/34), Kerala’s Mohammed Enaan (2/30), and Kiran Chormale (2/29) were instrumental in restricting Australia to 176 all out in 49.3 overs. Addison Sheriff was the standout performer for the visitors, scoring 39 runs off 61 balls.

The third match, which has no impact on the series outcome, will take place on Thursday before the teams head to Chennai for two unofficial ‘Tests’ starting September 30.
