Nursing Student Kidnapped, Then Gang-Raped in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: A nursing student hailing from Theni was allegedly kidnapped and then gang raped by a group of unidentified persons in the Dindigul district of Tamil Nadu.

The accused abandoned her near the Dindigul Railway Station and she reached the local police for help. The injured victim has been admitted to Dindigul Government Medical College Hospital.

An FIR has been registered and an investigation is underway to nab the culprits.

The victim was a second-year nursing student. She had boarded a bus from her hometown Theni. According to sources, later she called her father to tell that a woman in black dress was following her. After sometime her phone became unreachable. Her worried father approached Theni Police station regarding it.

The victim told the police in Dindigul that she had been abducted nearly 50 km away from the Dindigul railway station, gang raped and was left at the railway station.
