Man Dies As Car Falls Into Canal in Cuttack Dist

Bhubaneswar: The driver of a car died when the vehicle veered off road and plunged into a canal near Bamphakuda village under Cuttack Sadar police station limits. The vehicle with the body of the deceased inside it was discovered by the locals in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Kanha Jena of the Bamphakuda village. He met with the accident while returning home.

On Tuesday morning, villagers saw the submerged car and informed the fire service. The vehicle was dragged out of the canal and Kahna’s body was found inside it.

Soon Fire Service personnel arrived at the spot and found Jena’s body on the driver’s seat. The car was then pulled out using a JCB.  It is suspected that Jena died after his car veered off the road and fell into the canal last night.
