Minor Girl Gang Raped by 5 in Rourkela; 2nd Gang Rape in Steel City in Few Days

Rourkela: A minor girl was allegedly gang raped by five men in Rourkela on Tuesday night.

As per the FIR lodged, the victim went to a restaurant near Raghunathpali police station with two male friends on Tuesday night.  Later, her male friends took her to a secluded place under the Plant Site Police station limits and gang raped her. Then three friends of this duo also raped her at the spot.

The survivor has lodged a written complaint at the Raghunathpali police station regarding her ordeal. Police are in search of accused persons.

On September 21, two minor girls were gang-raped near Birsa Munda Square under Plant Site police station limits in Rourkela.

On Tuesday, a teacher allegedly misbehaved with a Class 9 girl at a private school in the Steel City leading to parents’ outrage .

The rising cases of rapes in the Steel City have raised serious concerns among its inhabitants.
