Bengaluru Woman’s Murder: Suspect Flees to Odisha, Multiple Teams Sent to Capture Him

Bengaluru: Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara stated on Wednesday that the police have traced the suspect involved in the gruesome murder of a 29-year-old woman in Bengaluru to Odisha.

In a shocking discovery, the dismembered body of the victim, Mahalakshmi, was discovered inside a fridge at her home a few days ago.

The minister confirmed that police teams have been dispatched to Odisha to apprehend the suspect, who is believed to be on the run, frequently changing locations to evade arrest. “We are taking the case very seriously. The murder has shaken Bengaluru, and the police have identified the suspect in Odisha. Three to four teams have been sent to track him down,” Parameshwara told reporters.

Mahalakshmi’s body, infested with maggots and chopped into several parts, was discovered by her mother and sister on Saturday at her residence in Vyalikaval.

The minister further added, “After securing the suspect, we will gather more information. While a few individuals were initially detained for questioning, the investigation points to the involvement of a particular person who is now being pursued in Odisha.”

The deceased woman’s estranged husband had earlier raised concerns over the involvement of a man from her neighbourhood, someone she reportedly knew well.
