Elderly Woman Dies After Falling Into Well In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: An aged woman lost her life after falling into a well at 119 Colony of Malkangiri Town in Odisha on Wednesday night.

The deceased has been identified as Padmaja Pattanaik, slipped and fell into the abandoned well near her house on Wednesday night.

According to locals, due to advanced age, the victim was unable to see properly in the dark, which led to the accident. Some also alleged that she may have jumped into the well for some reason.

Hearing her scream, neighbours informed the Fire Services department about the incident.

Fire Services personnel reached the spot and fished out the body from the well. Local police have launched an investigation into the incident.
