Schools Closed In Puri Dist Today for Heavy Rains Forecast

Puri: The district administration has ordered for closure of all schools in Puri district on Thursday in view of heavy rains.

Considering the IMD forecast for the region, Puri Collector Siddharth Shankar Swain took this decision.

The India Meteorological Department had issued orange warning of moderate rain/thundershower with one or two intense spells of rain for Puri, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Cuttack (including Cuttack city), Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur and Dhenkanal till noon on Thursday.

Heavy rain warning was also sounded for Puri along with Khurda, Cuttack and Jagatsinghpur till 11.30 am.

The weather agency had cautioned people about waterlogging in low-lying areas, occasionally poor visibility and traffic disruption in urban area.
