Class 2 Student Sacrificed for School’s Prosperity in Uttar Pradesh; 5 arrested

Lucknow: A Class 2 student was allegedly sacrificed during a superstitious black magic ritual to bring prosperity to a school in Hathras of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, three persons strangled the child in the school hostel on September 22. They had made similar murder attempt on another child earlier in the month. Police have arrested five persons in connection with the crime.

The school’s owner, whose father was reportedly involved in occult practices, is suspected to be the mastermind of the human sacrifice.

On September 6, the first human sacrifice ritual attempt was made, but the child raised an alarm, when attempts were made to strangle him.

On September 22, the accused attempted the ritual again. They carried the sleeping child to a spot near a tube well behind the school. But the boy woke up and the suspects strangled him inside the school, said police sources.

Ritualistic items found near the tubewell supported claims of superstitious occult activities. Police believe that the alleged motive behind the murder was to ensure the prosperity of the school, which was facing financial strain. The accused believed that by sacrifice of the child would bring prosperity to the school.
