UP Student Jumps Off College Roof After Alleged Molestation, Beating by School Staff

Fatehpur (UP): A Class 12 student in Uttar Pradesh’s Fatehpur district attempted suicide by jumping off the roof of her junior college following allegations of physical and sexual abuse by a school bus driver and subsequent mistreatment by the principal.

According to the student’s father, the incident unfolded after the girl stepped out of the college campus to buy something from a nearby shop. The bus driver reported the violation of college rules to the principal, leading to severe punishment for the student. The father alleges that both the driver and the principal subjected the girl to physical and emotional abuse, including sexual harassment.

The final straw came when the girl encountered the bus driver again and confronted him about the previous incident. This led to another complaint to the principal, resulting in further punishment, including being forced to stand in the sun for an entire day. Despite the father’s pleas to the principal, the abuse continued, ultimately driving the student to attempt suicide.

The student is currently hospitalised with severe injuries. The local police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) against both the bus driver and the principal based on the father’s complaint. An investigation into the matter is underway.
