Sarpanch Fires at Youth in Boudh Dist Injuring Him Critically

Boudh: A youth was seriously injured when the local sarpanch allegedly fired at him in the Manmunda police station limits in Boudh district on Friday night.

According to reports, the Sarpanch of Kusarabandh, Saroj Karn allegedly shot at the youth identified as Rajendra Karn of the village due to some past enmity.

According to locals, the continuing rivalry between Saroj and Rajendra took a violent turn after a quarrel between them. In a fit of rage, the sarpanch allegedly at first fired in the air and then shot two rounds at Rajendra’s legs.

Later, Saroj, along with his father and brother allegedly assaulted Rajendra with lathis.

Seriously injured Rajendra was rushed to Manamunda Community Health Centre (CHC) by his family. He was later shifted to the Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla.

The injured youth’s family later filed a complaint against Saroj at Manamunda police station.
