Man Held For Raping 12-Year-Old Girl In UP

Lucknow: A 27-year-old man was arrested for raping a 12-year-old girl from his neighborhood in his home in Shajahanpur of Uttar Pradesh.

According to the police, the accused identified as Rishabh Kumar (27), was a resident of the same colony where the victim’s family lived. The accused called the girl to his house on Friday.

When she entered his house, the accused locked her in a room and raped her. Later the girl managed to escape and informed her family.

A complaint was lodged against the accused on Friday evening and the accused was arrested. He was booked under Section 65/2 (punishment for rape in certain cases) of the BNS and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act.
