Ayodhya Ram Temple Prasad Sample Sent for Testing Amid Tirupati Laddu Row

Ayodhya: Samples of ‘elaichi daana’ or cardamom seeds being distributed as ‘prasad’ at the Ram Janmabhoomi temple in Ayodhya were sent for testing by the Food Safety and Drug Administration Department on Friday.

The samples of the prasad were sent for testing following a complaint lodged through the Integrated Grievance Redressal System (IGRS).

The samples were procured from Haiderganj, where the cardamom seed offerings for the Ayodhya Ram Temple are prepared. The samples were sent to the Jhansi State Laboratory for comprehensive testing and evaluation.

According to the Ram Temple Trust, around 80,000 packets of cardamom seeds are distributed every day to the visiting devotees.

The samples were sent for testing amid a row over the alleged presence of animal fat in the ghee used to make laddus at the Tirupati Temple in Andhra Pradesh.
