Two Class 8 Students Drown in Mahanadi River in Cuttack

Cuttack: Two school students drowned while taking a bath in the Mahanadi river near Balisahi of Jagatpur area in Cuttack on Friday. The body of one of them was recovered on Friday, while the other was fished out on Saturday.

According to reports, around 11 students studying in Class 8 at the Rajkishore Vidyapitha went to the river bank after attending their half-yearly examination. Two of them entered the river to take a bath. Both of them were swept away by the river current.

On being informed, the personnel of the fire services and Odisha Disaster Rapid Action Force (ODRAF) rushed to the spot to take up the rescue operation.
